The Ladies Shoes feature buckles of the latest “no hassle” easy clip on style that lengthens the life of the strap. These buckles can be changed to a beautiful “Diamante Style” in either Silver or Gold to match the shoe colour and highlight the style of the shoe. TIP: regularly use a jewellery cleaning cloth to help keep the diamante buckles free from tarnish.
The Suede Soles are designed to dance on any floor condition. However, if you want a dance shoe with an “all purpose sole”, then a reputable and professional shoe repairer ( see our recommendation below) will be able to apply a “Resin Sole” over the suede which will not take from the comfort of the shoe in any way.
Fitting and Sizing
The International Dance Shoes (IDS) supplied by Sweethearts Danceworld are made in US sizes. US sizing is approximately the same as our Australian made shoes, or fractionally smaller, for example an in a closed toe shoe an Australian Made Size 5.5C is equivalent to a 5.5 wide in the IDS. An Open Toe shoe would be a half size smaller. Our Australian made shoes in a “C Fitting” are wider than what you would normally buy in a “Street Dance Shoe Shop”.
Closed Toe Dance Shoes should be fitted so that they are “slightly” bigger (say 3mm) when 1st trying on a pair of shoes. After a few hours of dancing, your feet will swell from “dance heat” and the shoe will not make your feet cramp if you use this method.
Open Toe Dance Shoes should be fitted so that they are firm and your toes close to the edge of the toe front, with your heel firmly positioned into the back of the shoe, centering of the heel. If your foot slides down away from the back of the shoe, the means that the toe straps are either too wide for your feet or the straps are too loose.
There is always the “odd case” where no matter what shoe you wear it just does not fit perfect – well all is not lost. Sweethearts Danceworld sell the Vivaz Revivals soft gel innersole to fit under the ball of the foot. This serves to add volume around your foot and will give you a firmer and more comfortable fit- stopping your foot from sliding down in the shoe.
All Dance Shoes will stretch slightly with wear and mould to the dancer’s foot, but only in width, they cannot grow in length. Do not buy Dance Shoes that feel “big”, causing your feet to move around in the shoe when you dance. This will cause rubbing and may result in painful blisters.

The width of the Dance Shoe increases proportionately with the size increase. (0.5cm per full size).
